The Lost Shtetl Museum

The Lost Shtetl Museum is a groundbreaking new museum in Lithuania honoring ‘shtetl’ or small Jewish town life in Eastern Europe that was destroyed during the Holocaust. The exhibition tells the stories of the shtetl Šeduva, as told through survivors and descendants.

Ralph Appelbaum Associates brought us on to craft a documentary detailing the story of the Holocaust in Lithuania. The resulting 18-minute film plays a weighty role in the museum, providing visitors with a detailed, chronological overview of how approximately 90% of the country’s Jewish population was murdered. The film required intense historical rigor. We worked alongside the museum’s curatorial team, local archivists and researchers at Yad Vashem.
