Ellis Island is the most consequential immigration station in US history. Approximately 40% of Americans can trace a family member back through its gates. Now, the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration is one of the most visited museums in the country, welcoming approximately 4 million visitors annually.

Working alongside Ralph Appelbaum Associates, we produced a dozen films for the renovated permanent exhibit. The films spanned the story of immigration from Pre-Ellis Island years to present day. The multiyear project was a major undertaking. We scoured the nation for experts and immigrant stories to bring the films to life — in all we contacted and pre-interviewed more than 140 people and organizations. Our production team criss-crossed the nation, ensuring we captured a broad representation of immigration to the US, across generations and from all over the globe.

The first phase of the project is live at Ellis Island, with the remaining phases coming later this year.
